Morning I am looking for info on the movement of ag labours in the early 1800s.
I have been doing some family research and have found my 3x Great Grandfather was a ag labourer from Dewsbury Moor but he married a girl from Burnby witch is more than a says walk from where he lived. Would it be normal for people to travel so far for work? And also how would someone from Dewsbury have a connection with a farm in Burnby not far from Pocklington? Could there be family ties or would it be the land owner who had land in two locations. Hope this make sense thanks Adam
