Re: Identification sought of insect pest attacking cabbages etc in 1803
It sounds like an aphid - funny how they don't actually say how big it is! Have you tried LIBRAL? I must say that nothing actually leapt out at me, but you can search for two words such as cabbage and insect within a specified number of words, e.g,. "cabbage insect ~10" would be look for cabbage and...

Re: Bull Breed - Corvo, Azores
Hi Sara
Could you say what the name of the breed was? That might give more of a clue!

Re: Help with information on farm machinery
I've also received this on the Rural Museums Network: Engine powered horse drawn mower The engine on the mower is a Petter of Yeovil of about 1.5 horsepower Looks to me as if a clever farmer/engineer has made a conversion as the engine appears to be very heavy. The engine also appears to have no sil...

Re: Help with information on farm machinery
I have a reply from the Rural Museums Network: Hello the mower may be a bamford judging from it's toolbox very late production to be on rubber tyres. MAFF leaflet from late 60s/early 70s
Spottydog posted this in the Read this First forum and I have re-posted it here; I'm trying to track down a MAFF information leaflet from the late 60s/early 70s for an article I am writing. A colleague showed it to me many years ago, but he no longer has it. I think it was urging farmers to take up ...

Re: Painted Wagons
Hi David I don't know which Victorian Farm you are volunteering at, but I wonder whether they are a member of the Rural Museums Network. If so, it might be worth them posting your question on the RMN's Discussion Group. Ask them about this and if you don't get a positive response, I can post your qu...
